It is a criminal act to allow a third party to use your bank account!

Dear Student,

In recent times, there has been a significant increase in incidents involving fraud, illegal betting, and money laundering of drug trafficking proceeds through the use of university students' bank accounts and digital wallets by third parties. Knowingly and willingly allowing your bank accounts or digital wallets registered in your name to be used by others on grounds such as "earning a commission," "helping with debt repayment," "one-time use," "harmless money transfer," or similar pretexts may result in criminal and legal liability under the Turkish Penal Code and relevant legislation. Regardless of who actually carries out the transactions conducted through your accounts, you, as the account holder, may be held responsible.

Should you allow others to use your accounts, you may face the following consequences: being subject to criminal investigations and prosecutions, having a criminal record, being assessed as a high-risk customer by banks, having restrictions imposed on your bank accounts, having your loan and credit card applications rejected, being subject to judicial control measures (including overseas travel bans), and being sued for compensation by victims. In such cases, statements such as "I did not know," "I wanted to help," or "I was only an intermediary" may not serve as valid legal defences.

It is of utmost importance that you reject any offer—whether from someone you know or not—that promises financial gain in exchange for sharing your account or IBAN, and that you immediately report any suspicious situations to the security authorities.
